The flurry of events and new players in the last few months have shaken things up enough that we feel some changes are warranted. Though we don’t plan on making balance updates a regular occurrence in the Definitive Edition, we’re always keeping an eye on the state of the game.
After calibration, I put the anti-deadzone back to 0%.Our first major patch for the Definitive Edition is out now on Steam and Nintendo Switch! In addition to bugfixes, this update also includes some balance changes for the cast. You do not need to adjust the anti-deadzone, it will not give you a true fix to this problem. In fact, the default calibration with a mayflash adapter seems to favor a left motion over a right motion, giving you that weird left dash/right turn dance. This causes issues such as dash-dancing to not work. To do a dash, you want to hit the full range, which is 32767, so you need to calibrate x360ce to read 30000 as 100% of the range, and return 32767 to RoA. In x360ce, this reads as something like 30000. It's limited by the octagonal gate in the controller housing, and when you press the joystick fully in one direction you will only get maybe 80% of the full joystick range. The gamecube controller joystick does not actually use 100% of its range of motion. Set left-stick anti-deadzone back to zero, that setting was just because the controller wasn't calibrated.ĭid this fix your issues? I've only tested on my own machine, so leave a comment if it did/didn't (especially if you are using a different adapter than mayflash 4-port). If you did it right, you can go the left joystick screen and push the joystick all the way up/down/left/right to get 32767. Select your adapter (mine is a mayflash, reports four separate controllers, I just did the first one but you can do all four probably).įollow the instructions to calibrate your controller.įor Mayflash: Z-axis is cstick up/down, X rotation is left trigger, Y rotation is right trigger, Z-rotation is cstick left/right.įor Nintendo: Z-axis is left trigger, X/Y rotation is c-stick, Z-rotation is right trigger ( thanks, zaktheninja) In the bottom left, hit the Game Controllers. Especially if you had to mess with the deadzone/anti-deadzone to get it working, calibration will fix that and make the joystick do what you actually want it to. An example is here, on mang0's stream: Įven if it seems like the controller is working OK, you should still do calibration. The noticeable effect is not being able to correctly dash dance, side-b, or the controller favoring a certain direction. If you're using a gamecube controller, you need to calibrate it in x360ce to make your joystick inputs accurate.
